Massive Fire Engulfs East London Apartment Building, 2 Hospitalized
An apartment building in east London was engulfed by a massive fire early Monday morning, sending thick black smoke billowing into the sky.
The London Fire Brigade responded to the incident, which began at 2:44 a.m., with 40 fire engines and approximately 225 firefighters on the scene.
The blaze affected the entire building, including the surrounding scaffolding and roof. A large-scale evacuation took place, and a significant search and rescue operation is still underway.
The London Ambulance Service reported that four people were treated at the scene, with two transported to the hospital for further medical treatment.
Both residential and commercial units are housed within the building. Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire, and investigations are ongoing.
