The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has introduced new WhatsApp and live chat support platforms aimed at improving customer service and simplifying access to National Identification Number (NIN) enquiries for Nigerians and legal residents.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Commission said the initiative is part of its ongoing digital transformation and service delivery reforms under the leadership of Director-General and Chief Executive Officer, Abisoye Coker-Odusote.

According to NIMC, the newly launched channels are designed to provide faster, more convenient and real-time assistance to users, while reducing the need for physical visits to its offices nationwide.

The Commission stated that members of the public can now access support through the live chat feature on its official website and via its official WhatsApp support line: +234 701 566 6971.

NIMC noted that the development aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, which prioritises improved public service delivery through technology-driven solutions.

The agency explained that the platforms would provide prompt responses to enquiries, real-time guidance and verified information on NIN services and identity management issues.

It added that the reforms being implemented under Coker-Odusote’s leadership are focused on expanding access to identity services, boosting public confidence and enhancing operational efficiency across the Commission.

NIMC also advised Nigerians and legal residents to rely only on its official communication channels and remain alert to misinformation and fraudulent activities.
