Russia’s Defence Ministry has reported the downing of 337 Ukrainian drones overnight, marking the most extensive drone assault on Russian territory this year.
According to state news agency TASS, 91 drones were intercepted over the Moscow region, while 126 were destroyed in Kursk and 38 in Bryansk—both bordering Ukraine.
Authorities confirmed at least one fatality and three injuries in Moscow. In the Ramenskoye district, drone debris damaged seven apartments, forcing the evacuation of 12 residents, including three children, Moscow region governor Andrei Vorobyov stated.
In response to security concerns, Russia’s aviation authority temporarily suspended take-offs and landings at major Moscow airports—Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo, and Zhukovsky—as well as Nizhny Novgorod Airport, over 400 kilometers east of the capital. Such air traffic restrictions frequently follow Ukrainian drone strikes.
For more than three years, Ukraine has been repelling Russia’s invasion with Western support, increasingly targeting sites within Russian territory as part of its defense strategy.
The reported figures and claims could not be independently verified.
