Sarah Martins Calls for AMVCA Recognition of Yul Edochie’s Acting Talent

Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has urged organisers of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) to give veteran actor Yul Edochie greater recognition for his contributions to the film industry.

Following the 12th edition of the AMVCA held over the weekend, Martins acknowledged that while she and Edochie have had personal differences in the past, she still considers him a highly skilled performer who deserves industry accolades.

She congratulated all winners at the ceremony, adding that Edochie remains one of Nollywood’s standout talents whose work should not be overlooked.

“Hate aside, Yul Edochie is a fantastic actor, and he deserves a win. AMVCA, you people can do better. Congratulations to all the amazing winners tho. No hate zone,” she wrote.

Clarifying her remarks, Martins stressed that her comments were strictly based on professional merit rather than personal relationships, insisting that Edochie’s contributions to Nollywood warrant formal recognition.

“Don’t get me wrong my loves, I just feel he deserves to be recognised for his incredible talent. Yul might not be my person, but he’s Nollywood pride in terms of talent,” she added.
