Taiwan, Nigeria Strengthen Ties in IT and AI Collaboration
Taiwan is set to position Nigeria at the forefront of its global technological strategy, focusing on partnerships in Information Technology (IT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), according to James Huang, Chairman of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA).
Speaking at the 2024 Taiwan Technology Day organized by the Taiwan Trade Centre in Lagos, Huang highlighted Taiwan’s dominance in the IT and electronic manufacturing sectors. He expressed Taiwan’s eagerness to build innovative collaborations with African enterprises, particularly Nigeria.
“Taiwan leads the world in information technology and electronic manufacturing, and we play a key role in AI development. With Taiwanese companies producing over 90% of global computer servers and data centers, the future is bright for cooperation between Taiwan and African nations, especially Nigeria,” Huang said.
He further emphasized that Nigeria’s strengths in petrochemicals, machinery, and consumer goods align perfectly with Taiwan’s expertise, presenting opportunities for joint ventures in chemicals, machine tools
