Troops Arrests Suspected Cattle Rustler in Plateau

Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have arrested a suspected cattle rustler in Shakon Village, Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The suspect, identified as Joshua Ali, the youth leader of Shakon, was arrested at about 5:05 p.m. on August 16, 2026, by troops of Sector 8, Sub-Sector 81, Operation SAFE HAVEN.

A military security source told Zagazola Makama that Ali was arrested over allegations of involvement in cattle rustling around Barkin Ladi Local Government Area on August 11, 2026.

The suspect is currently in military custody and undergoing interrogation to establish his alleged involvement in the incident and determine whether other persons were connected to the suspected cattle rustling operation.

Security forces are expected to take further action based on the outcome of the investigation.
