The Ashlee Momoh Foundation (AMF) has joined the rest of the world to commemorate the *World Food Day 2026*, with a call for innovative, inclusive, and sustainable solutions to end hunger and ensure access to safe, diverse, and nutritious food for all Nigerians.
This year’s theme, *”Innovate today. Nourish tomorrow,”* focuses on combining forward-thinking solutions, data, technology, and traditional knowledge to ensure access to diverse, safe, and nutritious food while protecting the planet.
In a statement to mark the day, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ashlee Momoh Foundation, *Princess Ashlee Omonegho Momoh*, described the global initiative as a timely and vital campaign that emphasizes the urgent need for collaborative efforts in building resilient agrifood systems.
*According to Princess Momoh:*
“World Food Day reminds us that food is not just a basic need, but a fundamental human right. The 2026 theme, ‘Innovate today. Nourish tomorrow,’ is a powerful call to action. It challenges us to look beyond conventional methods and embrace innovation, blending science, data, modern technology, and our rich traditional knowledge to secure our food future.
This global initiative is a campaign that emphasizes collaborative efforts among scientists, farmers, youth, and indigenous peoples to build resilient agrifood systems that can withstand climate change and feed our growing population.”
The CEO further stated that in line with the spirit of this year’s commemoration, the Ashlee Momoh Foundation will be embarking on a robust advocacy and community outreach campaign focused on fostering access to safe and nutritious food to build a strong and healthy society.
“At AMF, we believe a hungry nation cannot be a healthy or productive nation. That is why we are committing ourselves to advocacy that promotes food security, supports smallholder farmers – especially women and youth – and educates communities on nutrition, food safety, and sustainable agricultural practices.
Our goal is to ensure that no household is left behind in access to affordable, safe, and nutritious food. When we nourish our people today, we are securing a healthier, stronger, and more prosperous tomorrow,” she added.
Princess Momoh also called on Government, private sector, development partners, and civil society organizations to invest more in agritech, climate-smart agriculture, and youth-led innovations in the food value chain.
The Ashlee Momoh Foundation remains committed to its mandate of humanitarian empowerment and community advancement through initiatives that address hunger, poverty, and social vulnerability.
