White House Dismisses Claims of Cabinet Being Unaware of Musk’s Email

The White House has rejected claims that Cabinet secretaries were caught off guard by an email from Elon Musk, which reportedly caused internal confusion.

During a press briefing on Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt insisted that “nobody was caught off guard,” dismissing concerns raised by CNN’s Jeff Zeleny.

When Zeleny questioned whether there had been any prior communication regarding the email, Leavitt challenged the credibility of anonymous sources suggesting otherwise.

Zeleny pointed out that Cabinet officials and others had indicated they were unaware of the email’s circulation and asked whether there would be discussions on the chain of command regarding affected workers.

Leavitt firmly rejected the premise, asserting that the president fully supports his Cabinet’s decision to instruct staff not to respond to the email due to national security concerns.

“It’s pretty common sense,” Leavitt said, emphasizing that the administration remains united in its approach.
