A 32-year-old man, identified as Rayyanu, was found dead inside a mosque in the Paso community, Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), shortly after observing the early morning Subhi prayer.
A resident, Ibrahim Musa, confirmed the incident, stating that it occurred around 5:56 a.m. on Tuesday. According to him, Rayyanu arrived at the mosque on a motorcycle, participated in the prayers, and then decided to rest inside the mosque.
“It was around 7:28 a.m. when some people responsible for cleaning the mosque saw him lying there. They tried to wake him up so they could clean the mosque, but he was unresponsive,” Musa said.
The cleaners alerted some elders in the community, who rushed to the scene and took Rayyanu to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the doctor on duty.
Following identification, the deceased was handed over to his relatives for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.
