Cassie Ventura, the former partner of embattled hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, will testify under her real name in his upcoming federal sex trafficking trial, according to new court documents.

In a motion filed on Friday, April 4, prosecutors confirmed that Ventura—referred to in earlier filings as “Victim-1″—has agreed to take the stand publicly, forgoing anonymity in a case that has already drawn massive media attention.

“She is prepared to testify under her own name,” the filing states. However, three other alleged victims—identified as Victim-2, Victim-3, and Victim-4—have requested that their identities remain private. Prosecutors are urging the court to allow them to testify under pseudonyms and prohibit the defense from disclosing any personal details.

“This case has already received an exceptional amount of media coverage, which will presumably only increase as trial proceeds,” prosecutors noted. They added that protecting the anonymity of the other women would help avoid “harassment from the media and others, undue embarrassment, and other adverse consequences.”

Combs, 55, was initially charged in September 2024 with racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. A superseding indictment filed in April 2025 added one count each of sex trafficking and transportation related to a second alleged victim.

Prosecutors allege Combs and his associates lured women under the guise of romantic relationships and then used “force, threats of force, and coercion” to compel them into what they described as “freak offs”—elaborate, coerced sexual performances.

One of the new charges accuses Combs of trafficking Victim-2, claiming he “recruited, enticed, harbored, transported, provided, obtained, advertised, maintained, patronized and solicited” the victim for commercial sex acts through force, fraud, and coercion.

Ventura had previously made headlines in May 2024 when CNN released surveillance footage from 2016, allegedly showing Combs assaulting her in a Los Angeles hotel. The video appeared to corroborate claims made in a lawsuit she filed in November 2023, which has since been settled. In the footage, Combs is allegedly seen chasing Ventura, violently grabbing and kicking her, and taking her belongings.

The trial is expected to attract intense public scrutiny as more details emerge about the charges and testimonies.
