“Russia Extends Gasoline Export Ban Amid Seasonal Demand Pressure”
The Russian government has announced an extension of its gasoline export ban until December 31, according to a statement released by the Cabinet of Ministers on Wednesday via Telegram.
The decision aims to stabilize the domestic fuel market, which is currently under pressure due to seasonal demand and ongoing scheduled maintenance at oil refineries, the statement explained.
Russia first imposed the gasoline export ban on March 1, intending to address the rise in domestic demand during the spring and summer months. Although the ban was temporarily lifted from mid-May to July 31 to support oil refining amidst a saturated domestic market, the government has now reinstated it to ensure market stability through the end of the year.
