Biden Thanks Public for Support After Prostate Cancer Diagnosis

Former U.S. President Joe Biden has expressed deep appreciation for the outpouring of public support following the announcement of his prostate cancer diagnosis.

“Cancer touches us all,” the 82-year-old wrote in a heartfelt message shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday. He added that both he and his wife, Jill Biden, have found strength in each other during difficult times.
“Thank you for lifting us with love and support,” he said, accompanying the post with a photo of the couple smiling together, with Jill holding their pet cat.

Biden’s office confirmed on Sunday that he has been diagnosed with an advanced and aggressive form of prostate cancer that has spread to his bones. However, the statement noted that the condition is manageable.

Support poured in from across the political spectrum. Former President Donald Trump, Biden’s predecessor and successor, wished him a speedy recovery, while former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama also offered their prayers and encouragement.

“I am certain he will fight this challenge with his trademark resolve and grace,” Obama posted, also highlighting Biden’s longstanding dedication to cancer research.
“Nobody has done more to find breakthrough treatments for cancer in all its forms than Joe,” Obama added, referring to Biden’s leadership of the 2016 “cancer moonshot” initiative aimed at accelerating cancer research.

The diagnosis marks another painful chapter in Biden’s personal battle with the disease. In 2015, his eldest son, Beau Biden, died at age 46 after battling a brain tumor — a loss the former president has often spoken about with emotion in public addresses.
