Victor Boniface Undergoes Final Medicals Ahead of AC Milan Move
Nigerian striker Victor Boniface is expected to complete the final phase of his medical examinations today as he edges closer to sealing a transfer to AC Milan, according to reports from Italy.
The Super Eagles forward began medical assessments on Friday, August 22, starting with the mandatory checks at the CONI (Italian Olympic Committee) center. He later proceeded to the Galeazzi Hospital in Milan for more comprehensive evaluations.
Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that AC Milan took extra precautions during the process, recalling their trusted orthopaedic specialist from vacation to personally oversee Boniface’s medical review. The club is reportedly being thorough due to the player’s previous injury record.
Boniface, 24, has endured several injury setbacks in recent years — including surgeries for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears in March 2019 and November 2020, along with muscular issues during his time at Bayer Leverkusen.
Despite those challenges, the forward had a solid season last year, scoring 11 goals and providing two assists in 27 appearances across all competitions.
Boniface’s move to Milan is expected to be finalized once he passes the remaining medical tests.
