The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has called on residents and stakeholders to work together to restore peace in the state.

State Commandant of the corps, Mr. Sani Mustapha, made the call on Monday in Gusau while briefing journalists as part of activities marking the 2025 International World Peace Day.

Mustapha noted that the theme for this year’s celebration, “Act Now for a Peaceful World,” was timely and reflected the desire of every well-meaning citizen, especially those in Zamfara, who earnestly yearn for peace.

“The corps is poised to support government in the pursuit of peace and tranquility in the country,” he said.

The commandant also commended the leadership of the NSCDC Commandant General, Prof. Abubakar Audi, describing his guidance as a source of professional encouragement for officers and men of the corps.

He urged residents to embrace peace, live by the message of the 2025 Peace Day theme, and help create a conducive environment for business and community life to thrive.

The commemoration in Zamfara featured an award presentation to Mustapha by members of the corps, alongside a road walk aimed at creating public awareness of the significance of World Peace Day.
