Katsina Police Chief Reaffirms Safe Schools Drive, Pledges Stronger Security for Learning Institutions

The Commissioner of Police in Katsina State, Ali Umar-Fage, has reiterated the command’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding schools across the state, as part of renewed efforts to strengthen the security architecture around educational institutions.

Umar-Fage made the pledge during a familiarisation visit to Police Secondary School, Mani, where he engaged with officers, staff, and students on measures to enhance safety and improve the learning environment.

The visit, which also featured an on-the-spot assessment of the school’s existing security arrangements, was conducted alongside the Coordinator of the School Protection Squad under the Katsina State Police Command, as part of broader initiatives to reinforce protective systems in schools.

Addressing the school community, the police commissioner commended personnel for their dedication and professionalism, urging them to remain vigilant and committed to their duties in maintaining discipline and security within the school setting.

He stressed that the protection of schools remains a top priority for the command, in alignment with the Safe School Initiative of the Inspector-General of Police, which focuses on ensuring secure learning environments nationwide.

Umar-Fage further emphasized the vital role of education in nation-building, noting that teachers play a critical part in shaping responsible citizens and securing the country’s future.

Reaffirming the command’s position, he assured that schools across Katsina State would continue to receive heightened security attention to guarantee safe and conducive environments for teaching and learning.

In response, the Commandant of the school, CSP Gaddafi Tasi’u, speaking on behalf of staff and students at Police Secondary School Mani, expressed appreciation for the commissioner’s visit and pledged continued cooperation in sustaining peace, discipline, and security within the school community.
