Super Falcons defender Michelle Alozie shortlisted for 2025 FIFPRO Women’s World XI

Super Falcons star and Houston Dash defender, Michelle Alozie, has been shortlisted for the prestigious 2025 FIFPRO Women’s World XI.

The 26-player shortlist, announced on Monday, features top footballers from across the globe, selected through votes cast by professional players worldwide.

Alozie earned her place on the list following an impressive year, highlighted by her pivotal role in Nigeria’s strong showing at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

The 27-year-old right-back was one of the standout performers of the tournament, scoring the decisive goal in Nigeria’s semi-final win over South Africa. Her exceptional performances also earned her a spot in the WAFCON Team of the Tournament.

Alozie now joins an elite group of defenders vying for a place in the final XI, including Ona Batlle, Millie Bright, Lucy Bronze, Olga Carmona, Ellie Carpenter, Alex Greenwood, and Leah Williamson.

The final list of the 2025 FIFPRO Women’s World XI will be officially announced on Monday, November 3, 2025.
