Osun Govt pledges continued support for Nigerian Army

Gov Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has pledged continued support for the military in its constitutional mandate to protect lives and property.

The Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Appolonia Anele, said this in a statement on Friday in Abuja.

 Anele said the governor made this remark when the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, paid him a courtesy visit in Osogbo.

The visit according to Anele, was  ahead of the Saturday historic Passing Out Parade of the first set of recruits trained at the Nigerian Army Depot in the state.

Adeleke described the establishment of the training depot in the state as a landmark achievement.

The governor thanked the Nigerian Army and President Bola Tinubu for the establishment of the training Depot in the state.

He said it had increased military presence and boosted the security confidence of the people.

He noted that the depot’s establishment was a significant development for the state.

The governor assured COAS that the state government would continue to provide the necessary support to the army to enable it to carry out its duties effectively.

In his remarks, the COAS lauded the Osun State Government for its support in establishing the Depot, describing it as a strategic investment in national security and youth development.

He assured that the passing-out recruits are well-trained and ready to serve the nation with dedication and discipline.

The scheduled parade marked a significant milestone for the army’s expansion of training infrastructure and the professional development of its personnel in the state.
