Former Disney Actor Matt Prokop Arrested in Texas Over Child Exploitation Allegations

Former Disney actor Matt Prokop has been arrested in Texas on allegations that include possession of child exploitation material, according to reports confirmed by TMZ.

Authorities in Victoria County said Prokop was taken into custody on Christmas Eve and is currently being held without bail at the county jail. Police disclosed that the charges include alleged possession of child sexual abuse material as well as resisting arrest.

Local news outlet Crossroads Today reported that Prokop was arrested for allegedly violating the conditions of his bond stemming from an earlier criminal case. However, officials have not disclosed specific details on how the bond terms were breached.

Prokop, a native of Victoria, Texas, was previously arrested in May 2024 in connection with an alleged assault involving his girlfriend. In that case, he was charged with aggravated family assault and resisting arrest.

The former child actor rose to prominence in the mid-2000s, appearing in popular television series such as Hannah Montana and The Office, and later featuring in High School Musical 3. He also previously dated Modern Family actress Sarah Hyland, who was granted a restraining order against him in 2014 after accusing him of physical and verbal abuse. A court at the time ordered Prokop to have no contact with Hyland for three years.
