JAMB Warns Candidates Against Holding Multiple Admissions

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has warned candidates that failure to disclose an existing matriculation status constitutes an offence under Nigeria’s admission laws.

JAMB spokesperson, Dr Fabian Benjamin, said disclosure is mandatory, explaining that once a candidate secures a fresh admission, any previous admission automatically becomes void.

He stressed that no candidate is legally allowed to hold two admissions at the same time under the country’s admission regulations.

Benjamin said the policy of mandatory disclosure has helped to curb the practice of already matriculated students posing as candidates to sit examinations for others.

He warned that candidates who fail to disclose a prior admission before matriculation risk forfeiting both offers if detected by JAMB’s system.

The spokesperson advised candidates and the general public to rely on official guidelines issued by the board and to disregard misleading interpretations being circulated for selfish interests.
