Rapper Offset Hospitalised After Florida Shooting, Two Suspects Detained
American rapper Offset has been hospitalised after sustaining gunshot injuries in a shooting incident in Florida on Monday evening.
Authorities confirmed that two suspects have been taken into custody following the incident, which reportedly occurred shortly after 7 p.m. near the valet area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
A representative for the rapper, who is also known as the former husband of Cardi B, confirmed that he is currently receiving medical treatment.
“We can confirm Offset was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care. He is stable and being closely monitored,” the spokesperson said.
In a statement, local police said the situation was quickly contained, adding that the victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. The area has since been secured, and investigations are ongoing.
Details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting remain unclear.
Offset, born Kiari Kendrell Cephus, gained prominence as a member of the hip-hop group Migos, alongside Quavo and the late Takeoff. The group rose to global fame with chart-topping hits like Bad and Boujee and their critically acclaimed album Culture (2017).
