Bianca Ojukwu’s Appointment as Foreign Affairs Minister Well-Deserved – NICASA

The Nigerian Citizens Association South Africa (NICASA) has described the appointment of Amb. Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Nigeria’s substantive Minister of Foreign Affairs as well-deserved.

NICASA President, Frank Onyekwelu, made this known in a congratulatory message issued on Friday, commending the minister’s track record in diplomacy, public service, and national representation.

According to Onyekwelu, her experience inspires confidence in her ability to advance Nigeria’s foreign policy with excellence, integrity, and strategic vision.

“We are confident that your leadership will further strengthen Nigeria’s global engagement and enhance the protection of Nigerians in the diaspora,” he said.

He noted that NICASA, as a body representing Nigerians in South Africa, is ready to collaborate closely with the ministry to promote the welfare, safety, and dignity of citizens abroad.

Onyekwelu also urged the minister to prioritise engagement with South Africa’s Department of International Relations and Cooperation to deepen bilateral relations between both countries.

He stressed that stronger diplomatic ties and sustained dialogue would help address key concerns such as xenophobia, law enforcement practices, and community safety affecting Nigerians in South Africa.
