Doma United Football Club of Gombe State, on Thursday, unveiled former Enyimba International FC, and Crown FC Coach, Deji Ayeni as its new Technical Adviser.

Suleiman Umar-Reme, Doma United Team Manager confirmed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gombe on Thursday.

Umar-Reme said that Ayeni’s addition was part of efforts by the club’s management to “adequately” prepare the team for the commencement of the Nigeria Professional Football League 2026/2027 season.

According to him, Ayeni’s addition to the coaching crew will add more depth in terms of technical experience and fortify the team for greater success after earning promotion back to the NPFL.

“Today, at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe, we unveiled Ayeni as we upgrade our team, making sure that the club meets up with the necessary standards required to be at the elite league.

“Appointing Ayeni is one step taken to restructuring the team and putting it on the right track.

“The appointment was done in order to make sure that the team meets up with the NPFL requirements of having a license A or B coach.

“Looking at his pedigree in the league, he has done and achieved a lot with other clubs and we know he would add value to the team,” he said.

Umar-Reme said Doma United were determined to make a strong impact on their return to the NPFL and that the club was strengthening its technical department in that regard.

According to him, Doma United is not afraid of any team and any club that “underrates us will be doing so at their peril because we are a strong team.”

The manager further stated that Najib Mabo, who successfully guided Doma United FC back to the NPFL, would work closely with Ayeni.

He commended Mabo for guiding the team back to NPFL, stressing that he remains an integral part of the club’s technical setup.

“I like to also commend the club’s Chief Executive Officer Alh. Suleiman Umar (Mai Doma) for all his support for the team that ensured Doma United’s return to NPFL.

“I further commend him for ensuring good preparation for the team ahead of the commencement of the league,” he said.

Umar-Reme appealed to fans of Doma United and all football lovers in the state to always remain calm and follow laid down regulations before, during and after any NPFL match, to avoid any issues for the club.
