Troops Rescue Kidnap Victim, Recover Abandoned Truck in Nasarawa

Troops of Sector 2, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have rescued a kidnap victim following a distress call on a kidnapping incident along the Akwanga-Gwantu Road in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

Security sources said the troops, stationed at Ngoho-Andaha, responded swiftly to the incident at about 12:27 a.m. on June 23.

According to the sources, upon arrival at the scene, the troops discovered an abandoned truck believed to be connected to the incident.

The troops also rescued one victim during the operation.

The victim was subsequently assisted by the troops and allowed to continue his journey after regaining safety.

The sources added that efforts were ongoing to track down those responsible for the kidnapping and ensure the safety of commuters along the route.

The operation was conducted without any reported casualty among the troops.
