Yobe Police Rescue Four Abducted Teenage Girls in Fika
The Yobe State Police Command has rescued four teenage girls who were abducted during an attempted kidnapping incident in Fika Local Government Area of the state.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Dungus Abdulkarim.
According to the statement, the incident occurred on June 28, 2026, when the Fika Divisional Police Headquarters received a distress report that unidentified gunmen had attacked Didim village and abducted four young females.
The police said the victims, all minors aged between 15 and 17 years, were taken by the attackers before security operatives responded.
Following the report, police personnel attached to the Kukar Gadu Outstation, working in collaboration with local vigilantes, launched an immediate rescue operation. Additional reinforcement from the division was also deployed to support the mission.
The operation led to the successful rescue of all four victims without injuries.
Police authorities said the girls were taken to the Kukar Gadu Primary Healthcare Centre for medical evaluation and necessary care before being reunited with their families.
The command added that efforts were ongoing to track down and arrest members of the criminal gang responsible for the attack.
Yobe State Commissioner of Police, CP Usman Kanfani Jibrin, directed sustained intelligence-led operations to ensure the suspects are apprehended and prosecuted.
He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state and urged residents to remain vigilant and continue providing credible and timely information on suspicious individuals, movements, and vehicles.
