A Kano magistrate’s court has ordered the remand of a man, Musa Umar, over his alleged involvement in the killing of Saminu Haruna Tudun Bojuwa following a dispute over the sharing of motorcycles donated by a politician.

Umar was arraigned before Magistrate Hauwa Abba Musa of Magistrates’ Court No. 27, Nomansland, Kano State, on charges of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide.

The prosecutor, Barrister H. M. Ado, informed the court that a fresh charge had been filed and requested that it be read to the defendant.

The court subsequently directed its clerk, Muhammad Tudun Wada, to read the charges to Umar.

According to the allegations, Umar conspired with another person, who was not before the court, to stab the deceased with a knife, leading to his death.

The incident reportedly stemmed from a disagreement over the sharing of motorcycles allegedly donated by a politician to some individuals.

The parties were said to have disagreed after claiming that the motorcycle had been jointly given to them.

Following the arraignment, the court ordered that Umar be remanded in a correctional facility pending further proceedings.

The case was adjourned until November 3, 2026.
