The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecasted thunderstorms across various parts of Nigeria from Thursday to Saturday.

According to NiMet’s weather outlook released on Wednesday in Abuja, thunderstorms are expected over parts of Kebbi State and other northern regions in the morning hours on Thursday, with more occurrences in Adamawa, Taraba, Kaduna, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara later in the day.

In the North Central region, areas like Niger and Kwara states are expected to experience morning thunderstorms, extending to the Federal Capital Territory, Plateau, and Benue states by afternoon.

Southern states such as Ebonyi, Imo, Abia, Ondo, and others may also see thunderstorms throughout the day.

The forecast for Saturday includes more thunderstorms in both the northern and southern regions, with NiMet advising residents to avoid flood-prone areas due to potential urban flooding from heavy downpours.

The agency also urged the public, especially airline operators, to stay informed through regular weather updates available on their website, www.nimet.gov.
