In a generous gesture marking his 45th birthday, Mustapha Atiku Ribadu, the Organizing Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State, extended scholarships and empowerment packages to over 500 students and women from Dodore community in Bako ward, Yola South Local Government Area.

During the event on Saturday in Yola, Ribadu emphasized that the initiative was just the beginning of a broader empowerment drive aimed at reaching every corner of Adamawa State. “I am starting this journey from my immediate community as a way of giving back to those who have been so supportive. My vision is to extend this program to benefit all communities in our state,” Ribadu stated.

He disclosed plans to launch a statewide scholarship program, drawing from his own academic background, and expressed a desire to expand the initiative from Bako ward to all of Yola South and beyond.

While each beneficiary received N20,000, Ribadu acknowledged that the amount might not be substantial but believed it would make a meaningful difference in easing the current economic difficulties faced by many. “This is a first step in a long journey to uplift our people. I am also committed to supporting exceptionally brilliant students with scholarships to help them succeed,” he added.

Ahmadu Bingel, APC Chairman in Yola South, commended Ribadu’s efforts, noting the significant impact the support would have on the beneficiaries’ lives. He praised the Ribadu family’s longstanding contributions to education and community development, as well as the efforts of Malam Nuhu Ribadu, Nigeria’s National Security Advisor, in improving the well-being of Adamawa residents.

Local party secretary Aliyu Buba echoed these sentiments, highlighting the initiative’s role in poverty alleviation and offering gratitude for the ongoing efforts to assist indigent students and women in the area.

Expressing appreciation, beneficiary Isa Tukur said the support would greatly aid his studies and lauded Ribadu for his foresight and commitment to the community.
