The Nigerian film industry is mourning the loss of veteran actor Pa Charles Olumo Sanyaolu, affectionately known as Agbako, who passed away at 101.
The legendary actor reportedly died peacefully early Thursday morning, October 31, after taking a nap due to fatigue. His passing was announced by Bolaji Amusan, also known as Mr. Latin, President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN). In his tribute, Mr. Latin expressed his condolences and noted that the family and association will release burial details soon.
Born on February 25, 1923, Charles Olumo was a revered figure in Nollywood, primarily known for his roles in Yoruba-language films. His career spanned several decades, leaving an indelible mark on Nigeria’s film industry and securing his place as an iconic figure beloved by fans and colleagues alike.
