The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Anambra State Chapter has reached agreement with Gran Hermamo Academy, Awka for the training of its officials on how to leverage on public relations to raise output.

This is part of the Chapter’s commitment to assist academic institutions to manage trust, reputation, and communication between students, staff, parents, the community, and regulators, a release signed by PRO of the Chapter, Comrade Ogemdi Ozoemenam stated.

Chairman of the Chapter, Dr Ngozi Ulogu during a courtesy visit to the school described public relations as a management function which schools should internalise to create mutual relationship among its key stakeholders.

She maintained that this is necessary to build trust with parents and the community, shape reputation and enrollment, manage crisis, improve internal communication, support fundraising, partnerships as well as teaching students media literacy by example.

“Parents choose and stay at schools where they feel informed and respected. Public relations creates channels for clear updates on policies, events, safety, and student progress. That cuts down on rumours and replaces them with facts. In places where school funding or enrollment depends on public perception, this trust directly affects survival”, the PRO quoted her as saying.

Responding, Chairman & Proprietor of the Academy, Mr Chijioke Nwajioha appreciated NIPR for the visit and accepted to partner with the Chapter on training of its staff, as well as taking part in its upcoming national programmes.

According to him, the school is open for partnership with reputable organizations, stressing that school management is very fragile, hence the need to continue bringing innovations and ideas into the system to boost growth and productivity.
