Carter Efe Outpoints Portable to Claim Celebrity Boxing Title in Lagos Showdown
Skit maker Carter Efe emerged victorious over street-hop singer Portable in a high-profile celebrity boxing match held on Friday night in Lagos.
The bout, staged at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, drew a large crowd of fans and entertainment enthusiasts, reflecting the growing appeal of celebrity boxing in Nigeria.
The three-round contest lived up to expectations, delivering a mix of intensity and drama. Both fighters came out aggressively in the opening round, with Portable showcasing his trademark high-energy style, while Efe adopted a more measured approach, relying on controlled and calculated punches.
Portable, who previously defeated Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington to claim two belts, had vowed before the fight to secure a third title. However, Efe remained confident, predicting a decisive outcome.
Momentum shifted in the second round as Efe began to land more precise shots. Portable’s relentless but less accurate attacks appeared to drain his stamina, giving Efe the upper hand.
The decisive moment came in the third round, when Efe connected with a series of clean punches that left Portable struggling to keep pace.
All three judges scored the fight 27–30 in favour of Efe, citing his superior precision, stamina, and ring control.
The match highlights the rising popularity of celebrity boxing in Nigeria, where entertainment and sport continue to merge, drawing significant public attention and engagement.
