Fuel Scarcity Blamed on Vessel Discharge Delays: NNPC

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has attributed the recent fuel scarcity in parts of Nigeria, particularly in Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, to delays in the discharge operations of several vessels.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd, assured the public that the company is actively collaborating with all stakeholders to address the issue and restore normal fuel supply.

“The tightness in fuel supply and distribution is due to a hitch in the discharge operations of a couple of vessels,” Soneye explained. “NNPC Ltd. is working round the clock with all stakeholders to resolve the situation and bring back normalcy in operations.”
