Israel’s military has disclosed that more than 400 ballistic missiles have been launched by Iran since the outbreak of the ongoing Middle East conflict, with about 92 percent successfully intercepted.

The figures were announced on Sunday, a day after Iranian missile strikes hit two towns in southern Israel, leaving approximately 175 people in need of medical treatment.

According to Israeli military spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani, the country’s air defence systems have maintained a high interception success rate throughout the conflict.

“Iran has fired over 400 ballistic missiles. We have had great interception rates — approximately 92 percent,” he told journalists.

Among the areas affected on Saturday was Dimona, a town widely believed to host Israel’s undeclared nuclear facility. Authorities said the missile struck about five kilometres from the sensitive site.

Another town, Arad, also suffered significant damage, with several buildings affected by the தாக்க.

Shoshani noted that the missiles used were standard ballistic types and revealed that only four had directly impacted targets since the war began. He added that the military would investigate the interception failure recorded during Saturday’s હુમલા.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the incident as a “very difficult evening” and urged citizens to seek shelter whenever warning sirens are activated.

During a visit to Arad on Sunday, Netanyahu vowed to intensify actions against Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), promising to target its leadership, infrastructure, and economic assets.

Meanwhile, local media reported that one person was injured in Tel Aviv on Sunday following an explosion believed to have been caused by a cluster munition.
