Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday extolled the virtues of his late classmate, Mrs Keturah Ominabo, describing her as a sister and good leader in their school days.

Jonathan gave the eulogies during the funeral service for the late classmate at the Christ the King Catholic Church Imiringi, Community, Ogbia Local Government Area, of Bayelsa.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Jonathan and late Keturah were classmates in their secondary  school days at the  Mater Dei High School, Imiringi from 1971 to 1975.
The former president described the deceased as a calm soul and a good leader that possessed good leadership quality from their days in school and beyond as she retired as a Principal in the Bayelsa Education Board.
“I condole the immediate family and her son, Mr Wealth Ominabo, who works with us in the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation,” he said.
The ex-president said he could give an account of her, describing her as a great soul.
According to him, death is not the end one but that the final ceremony is for the living.
“At our time,  she was a very kind person, Keturah was never associated with anything negative.
“As you can see, four of us are  here today to honour her and mourn our dear classmate and the mother of our member of  staff.
“We honour her memory and celebrate a life so generously devoted to God, family, education and humanity. Her life was one of purpose and meaningful service.”
According to Jonathan, though her physical presence will be greatly missed, the impact of her life will continue to live on in the many people she inspired and nurtured.
“She has served, she has lived a decent life, and that’s why we are all here to celebrate her departure. For the family, you are not alone. We will mourn with you and we’ll continue to be with you.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Mr Wealth Ominabo, son of the deceased and Communication Officer, Goodluck Jonathan Foundation, commended the former president for the support at their trying time.
He equally thanked those, who stood by them, describing his late mother as a bridge builder, who stood behind her family and colleagues during her life time.
