Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman scored in the 19th minutes to equalise for Atletico Madrid in their Copa del Rey final against Real Sociedad on Saturday.

Real Sociedad had taken the lead just 13 seconds into the game through Barrenetxea’s strike but Lookman equalised with a beautiful left footed strike from inside the box.

Striker Oyarzabal restored Real Sociedad’s leads just before halftime but Atletico leveled the score in the 83rd minutes through Argentine striker Julian Alvarez.

Both teams couldn’t find the winner after 120 minutes leading the game to penalty shootouts where Sociedad won 4-3, with Atletico’s Alexender Sorloth and Julian Alvarez missing their penalties.

Lookman’s goal made him the second Nigerian player to score in the Copa del Rey final, after Finidi George.

George scored for Real Betis in 1997 at the Santiago Bernabèu against Barcelona.

Just like Lookman, Finidi’s side couldn’t win the trophy.
