The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Kaduna State Chapter, has called for a stronger strategic partnership with the Kaduna State Government to deepen professionalism and advance the practice of public relations in the state.
The call was made by Council Member, Alhaji Musa Bashir Usman, during a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Ahmed Maiyaki, on Tuesday, 15th September, 2026, in Kaduna.
Alhaji Usman commended the Commissioner for his sustained support to the Chapter’s activities, noting that the partnership being sought goes beyond the state chapter but to the NIPR in Nigeria, a release signed by the Chapter PRO, Latifah Ismail said.
He said it was natural for such a relationship to commence from the office of the Commissioner, who is not only the Commissioner for information and Culture but also a member of the Kaduna State Chapter.
Alhaji Usman further noted that the recent conferment of Patronship on His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, Governor of Kaduna State, provides a unique opportunity for the Chapter to deepen its direct engagement with the Governor.
“This partnership will bring immense development to the Institute, especially considering the Governor’s track record in supporting professional bodies and Unions in the state. This is a rare gesture that can only be seen in Kaduna State,” he stated.
He also disclosed that the national leadership of the NIPR has extended invitations to all 36 state governors, to participate in the upcoming World Public Relations Forum 2026 (WPRF) scheduled to hold in Abuja in November.
According to him, the Forum provides an opportunity for states to showcase their rich cultural heritage and indigenous delicacies.
“We believe you will amplify to His Excellency the importance of this Forum. Kaduna State, in the comity of the 19 northern States, must be seen. Kaduna needs to make a bold statement with its presence. ” he said.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the NIPR Kaduna State Chapter, Malam Abdullahi Mohammed, expressed appreciation to the Commissioner for his dedication and consistent support to the Chapter and the Institute at large.
He pledged that the Chapter would work hand-in-hand with the Ministry to ensure excellence and professionalism in public relations practice in the state, adding that plans are underway for the new EXCO to pay a courtesy visit to Governor Uba Sani for formal introduction.
Earlier, the Immediate Past Chairman, Haroun Malami, MNIPR, who set the tone for the meeting, briefed the Commissioner on the purpose of the visit and commended both the Commissioner and Governor Uba Sani, Patron of the Institute, for their unwavering support.
In his response, the Honourable Commissioner, Alhaji Ahmed Maiyaki, thanked the NIPR delegation, promised to work with the Chapter and also showed willingness to explore areas of partnership.
He described the World Public Relations Forum as a great platform for the state to showcase its developmental strides, noting that Kaduna State has attracted over $3.5 billion in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) across various sectors in the last three years.
“It is important to showcase these successes. The World Forum is surely an important event that the state would like to be part of. Beyond culture, we will also come with business opportunities,” the Commissioner said.
He concluded by emphasizing the values of trust, professional reputation, and ethical practice which is core values that bind PR practitioners together.
