Police Arrest 22-Year-Old Man Over Alleged Defilement of 15-Year-Old Girl in Ogun

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested a 22-year-old man identified as Daniel over the alleged drugging and sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl in Ogun State.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Ani Iniedu, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday.

According to the police, the suspect allegedly gave the teenager a malt drink containing an unidentified substance, which reportedly caused her to lose consciousness.

Daniel was subsequently accused of having unlawful sexual intercourse with the girl while she was unconscious and unable to give consent.

Following the incident, the victim was taken to Olukoye Ransome-Kuti Memorial Hospital in Asero for medical examination.

Police operatives also arrested the suspect and took him into custody.

Iniedu said, “Police operatives arrested Daniel, 22 years, for allegedly drugging a 15-year-old girl with a malt drink, causing her to lose consciousness, and subsequently having unlawful carnal knowledge of her without consent.

“The suspect is in custody.”

The case is currently being investigated by the State Criminal Investigation Department, Eleweran, Ogun State.
