The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a 45-year-old suspected quack doctor, Adeniyi Benjamin, for allegedly operating an unlicensed medical facility and administering fertility treatments in Ibadan.

The command’s spokesperson, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.

According to the statement, Benjamin was arrested on October 2 by operatives of the Command Monitoring Unit following credible intelligence about his activities at Life Is Good Hospital in the Olodo area of Ibadan.

The police said the suspect was found attending to patients and administering treatments, particularly fertility-related treatments, despite allegedly not being a qualified medical doctor.

Benjamin reportedly confessed during preliminary investigation that he had been operating as a quack practitioner for about seven years without a medical licence.

He also disclosed that he specialised in fertility-related treatment, which he administered to patients at the facility.

The police said operatives recovered several items from the facility, including two weighing scales, four Quantum Magnetic Resonance Body Analysers, a stethoscope, a large carton containing assorted medicines and specimen bottles.

The suspect reportedly operated Life Is Good Hospital, which had branches in the Olodo and Academy areas of Ibadan.

The command warned members of the public about the dangers of seeking medical care from unqualified practitioners, particularly in sensitive areas such as fertility treatment.

It urged residents to verify the professional credentials and registration status of individuals offering medical services before entrusting them with their health or that of their loved ones.

The police also encouraged residents to report suspicious medical facilities or individuals presenting themselves as medical practitioners without verifiable credentials to the police or relevant regulatory authorities.

The command said investigation was ongoing to determine the full extent of the suspect’s activities and establish whether other individuals were connected to the operation.

It added that appropriate action would be taken in accordance with the law after the investigation is concluded.
