What Happened to 25-Year-Old Zambian Model Who Vomited and Fell Unconscious After a Night Out?

Popular Zambian model and socialite Lisa Mutambo has died after reportedly vomiting and losing consciousness at her residence in Lusaka’s Kalundu area following a night out with friends.

Police said the 25-year-old’s death was reported at Chelstone Police Station at about 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026. She reportedly died between 3:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. at Victoria Hospital.

According to Zambia Police deputy spokesperson Chipo Kaitisha, Mutambo had spent the evening with two female friends at a hotel where she served as an ambassador. The three women later left at about 10:30 p.m. for another drinking spot in Lusaka, where they continued socialising.

Police said that between 2:30 a.m. and 3:00 a.m., Mutambo’s boyfriend, identified as Caleb Lisa, also known as Andrea, arrived and picked up the three women. He reportedly dropped the two friends off in the Minestone/Casanova area before taking Mutambo to the residence they shared in Kalundu.

Shortly after arriving home, Mutambo reportedly began vomiting and subsequently became unconscious.

Her boyfriend is said to have contacted a friend, who assisted in taking her to Victoria Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police officers later processed both the primary and secondary scenes as investigations began into the circumstances surrounding her death.

Her body was initially deposited at FSG Mortuary before being transferred to the University Teaching Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem examination.

Police said no physical injuries were observed on Mutambo’s body, contradicting earlier claims circulating on social media that she had allegedly been beaten to death by her boyfriend.

An inquiry file has been opened, while investigations continue to determine the circumstances surrounding the model’s sudden death.

Police said further information would be released as the investigation progresses.
