Yemen’s Houthis Launch Missile Attack on 3 US Destroyers in Red Sea

Yemen’s Houthi movement (Ansarallah) announced on Friday it had launched a major attack targeting three US military destroyers in the Red Sea, using more than 20 missiles in what they termed their “largest naval operation” to date.

In a statement, the movement claimed that the strike was conducted “in support of the Palestinian people and in solidarity with fighters in Gaza and Lebanon,” while also asserting it was a response to “American and British aggression” on Yemen. The attack involved 23 ballistic and winged missiles, as well as a drone, which reportedly resulted in direct hits on the US destroyers.

The group emphasized that the operation was a collaborative effort between the naval, UAV, and missile units of the Yemeni Armed Forces. They described it as the most extensive naval operation in the “Battle of the Promised Conquest,” carried out as part of their support for the Aqsa Flood operation and a reaction to ongoing foreign military interventions.
