2 Palestinians killed, 4 wounded in Gaza as ceasefire strains continue
Two Palestinians were killed and four others injured on Sunday in separate incidents involving Israeli gunfire and drone strikes across the Gaza Strip, according to medical sources.
In northern Gaza, one Palestinian was killed after Israeli military vehicles opened fire toward tents sheltering displaced civilians in the Halawa camp area, east of Jabalia.
In a separate incident in central Gaza, a 16-year-old boy was critically wounded after being struck by an Israeli quadcopter drone in the Al-Tahlia area of Deir al-Balah. He was transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital for treatment.
Another Palestinian was killed and three others were injured when a drone strike targeted a motorcycle on Salah al-Din Street, east of the Nuseirat refugee camp. Al-Awda Hospital confirmed it received one fatality and three wounded, including a child, following the attack.
Local sources also reported Israeli gunfire and aerial activity in areas east of Gaza’s central governorate. In the south, artillery shelling and heavy gunfire were reported شرق of Khan Younis, alongside naval fire targeting the city’s coastline.
The incidents come amid continued tensions despite a ceasefire that has been in place since October 2025. Gaza authorities say violations of the truce have persisted, citing hundreds of casualties since the agreement took effect.
The conflict has caused extensive human and material losses in Gaza since 2023, with large-scale damage to infrastructure and ongoing humanitarian challenges across the territory.
