Federal Gov’t Appoints Ango As Chairman FCT-IRS
President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Michael Hadi Ango as the Acting Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service.
A statement signed by the Director of Press, Anthony Ogunleye directs Ango to bring his wealth of experience and proven track record in revenue administration, financial management, and organizational leadership to bear.
With more than 20 years of service in various public and private sector capacities, he has consistently demonstrated his commitment to excellence and innovation in revenue collection and management, the statement adds.
Michael Ango holds an LLM degree from the Columbia University School of Law, New York, and a Bachelor of Law degree from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
He attended the Nigeria Law School in 2003 and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government’s Executive Education in Comparative Tax Policy and Administration Programme in 2013.
Ango, in his professional capacity, has served in the following strategic committees which include, Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, President Ethics Committee of the International Automobile Federation,
Fiscal Policy Reform Committee of the Federal of the Ministry of Finance and Nigerian Bar Association Committees on Finance, Employment Bureau and Working Group on AFCFTA.
He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and the International Association of Privacy Professionals amongst others.
As Acting Chairman of the FCT-IRS, Michael Ango will oversee the implementation of strategic initiatives to enhance revenue generation and ensure fiscal sustainability.
The statement further adds that his appointment comes at a crucial time as the FCT-IRS seeks to expand its revenue base, improve taxpayer compliance, and streamline operations for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
