Popular Nigerian TikTok creator Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, has revealed that traumatic experiences during his childhood led to his conversion from Islam to Christianity.

Speaking during a recent live session with fans, Peller recounted the emotional toll of his early years at a Quranic school — locally called Ile Kewu — where he said he was subjected to severe beatings.

“I’m not a Muslim. I’m a Christian. I go to church,” he declared. “I was beaten severely when I was young at the Quranic school. That’s why I stopped going.”

Peller said the traumatic experience not only drove him away from religious education but also shaped his spiritual beliefs and ultimately led him to embrace Christianity.

His remarks come shortly after his engagement to his girlfriend made headlines on social media, with the couple confirming their relationship publicly.

The skit maker, known for his viral videos and controversial takes, has previously stirred reactions with statements about religion, the entertainment industry, and personal values.
