Burna Boy Orders Couple Out of Denver Concert for Sleeping During His Performance
Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, stirred drama at his concert in Denver, United States, on Wednesday night after ejecting a couple he accused of sleeping during his performance.
Naija News reports that the incident occurred midway through his set when the “City Boys” crooner noticed the pair in the front row appearing disinterested.
Stopping the music, Burna Boy confronted the man and demanded that he take his girlfriend out of the venue. Despite initial resistance, the couple eventually left after the audience joined in urging them to go.
Visibly irritated, Burna Boy addressed the crowd, saying:
“When I stand up here [on stage] and see you over there with your girl sleeping in front of me, it pisses me the fk off. So, please, take her the fk home… Walahi, I’m not performing another song till you go home.”
The self-acclaimed African Giant later resumed his performance after the couple exited the venue.
This isn’t the first time Burna Boy has kicked out fans during a show. On previous occasions, he asked a male fan to leave for hugging him on stage and another for refusing to dance along to his music.
Meanwhile, Burna Boy recently made history as the first Nigerian artiste to earn five Grammy nominations in album categories. His latest project, No Sign of Weakness (2025), is nominated for Best Global Music Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards.
