Alhaji Aliyu Abbati, Former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (NIRSAL), has declared intention to contest the Adamawa Senatorial seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) while pledging positive representation that will deliver more dividends of democracy to the constituents.

Abbati, stated this during an interactive session with journalists in Yola, that he is capable of representing the zone at the National Assembly.

He appealed to the electorates to rally round him to enable him to win the election and to provide quality representation.

“I am not going to Abuja to warm a seat and keep it warm. I am going there to work, to legislate, to advocate, to negotiate, to attract projects and to make the federal government more visible in Adamawa State”.

According to him, the contest will not be a do-or-die affair as the party leaders and senior stakeholders will decide on it.

Abbati said he was driven into the senatorial contest due to the underdevelopment of Adamawa Central Senatorial District.

“ I am here because our district is too important to remain under leveraged. We are blessed with history, location, people, enterprise, farmland, waterways, intellect, and strategic relevance.

” Yet too many of our communities are still burdened by flooding, unemployment, weak infrastructure, educational hardship, insecure livelihoods, underfunded health systems, and lost economic opportunity”, he said.

He said that under the APC-led Federal Government, Adamawa State would have a rare opportunity to attract more developments, including roads, irrigation, jobs, skills, healthcare support, education access, livestock investment, security coordination, and economic growth.

“We will not seek development by noise. We will pursue it by structure, by competence, and by results.”

He said the creation of the Ministry of Livestock Development by the administration of President Bola Tinubu shows the government’s focus on grassroots development.

“The Ministry of Livestock Development alone shows how sector-specific federal intervention can support animal health, dairy value chains, pasture management, veterinary services, and conflict reduction when a district has focused representation”, he said.

In his remarks, Abbati’s campign Director General, Japhet Kefas described the aspirant as a man with proven integrity and an experienced leader who is equal to the task.

According to him, if given the opportunity Abbati will ensure quality representation at the National Assembly.
