Vice President Kashim Shettima has left Abuja for Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, to participate in the opening ceremony of the International Exhibition of Extractive and Energy Resources (SIREXE) 2024.
Mr. Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications (Office of the Vice President), confirmed this in a statement on Wednesday.
The conference, scheduled from Nov. 27 to Dec. 2 at the Abidjan Exhibition Centre, is being hosted by Côte d’Ivoire’s government. It focuses on policies and strategies for sustainable development in the extractive and energy sectors.
Shettima is attending at the invitation of Côte d’Ivoire’s Vice President, Tiémoko Koné, and will share insights from Nigeria’s experience in hydrocarbon exploration and production.
According to Nkwocha, the Vice President is expected to return to Abuja later today.
SIREXE 2024 serves as a global platform for stakeholders to discuss advancements and innovations in the energy and extractive industries.
