The first deal, valued at $86 million, includes 500 GBU-39B Small Diameter Bombs (SDB I), two GBU-39 (T-1)/B inert practice bombs, and related equipment. Manufactured by Boeing, the precision-guided GBU-39B allows aircraft to carry more bombs due to its compact design. The package also includes tactical training rounds, spare parts, logistical support services, and other non-MDE items.
The second sale, worth $88.37 million, involves 30 AIM-120C-8 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAMs), a guidance section, telemetry kits, and support equipment. Designed for air defense, the AMRAAMs will bolster Morocco’s F-16 Block 72 fleet operations. RTX Corporation will serve as the principal contractor.
These approvals follow a recent $260 million sale of Javelin anti-tank missiles to Morocco, further solidifying the strategic partnership between the two nations.
Both sales are not expected to alter the existing military balance in the region, according to the US State Department.
