Nigeria’s drive to build a competitive digital economy will take centre stage as the country prepares to host the Digital Nigeria International Conference, Exhibition and Awards (DNICE) 2026, a flagship gathering expected to bring together policymakers, technology companies, entrepreneurs, investors and international development partners.
Set for November 10–12 at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja, this year’s conference centres on a vital mission: ‘Driving Nigeria’s Digital Future: Secure, Intelligent & Inclusive Systems.’ Hosted by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) under the patronage of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, and supervised by the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, the event brings together leaders and innovators to spark meaningful collaboration, unlock investment, and drive real-world technology adoption.
The conference comes at a critical time when artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity and digital public infrastructure are reshaping economies and creating new opportunities for businesses and governments.
For Nigeria, with its youthful population, growing technology ecosystem and entrepreneurial talent, the challenge is to translate digital innovation into jobs, improved public services, stronger businesses and sustainable economic growth.
Central to the discussions will be the Federal Government’s digital transformation agenda, including NITDA’s Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan 2.0, which prioritises digital literacy, talent development, innovation, inclusive infrastructure, cybersecurity and strategic partnerships.
A major attraction is the Builders Festival, an initiative designed to connect technology startups with organisations seeking solutions to operational challenges. By matching innovators with potential customers and institutional partners, the initiative could help startups secure commercial opportunities while encouraging public and private organisations to adopt locally developed technologies. The goal is to build 3billion Naira investment pipeline for our indigenous startup
The conference will also provide a platform to explore how artificial intelligence can improve productivity across sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, education, finance and public administration. Discussions around digital identity, data protection, cybersecurity and cloud infrastructure are equally important as Nigeria expands its digital services.
Beyond policy discussions, the conference’s exhibition and networking sessions are expected to create opportunities for businesses to showcase innovations, investors to engage with entrepreneurs and institutions to explore technology partnerships. The maiden edition of Digital Nigeria Honours Award will also recognise outstanding contributions to the country’s digital development.
The success of the gathering, however, will ultimately depend on its ability to translate discussions into measurable outcomes, including investment, technology deployment, business expansion and employment opportunities.
With effective collaboration among government, industry, academia and development partners, DNICE 2026 offers an opportunity to strengthen Nigeria’s digital ecosystem and position local innovators for greater participation in regional and international markets.
As preparations advance, the conference represents more than a technology gathering; it is an opportunity to accelerate the transition from digital ambition to practical economic impact, ensuring that innovation creates value for businesses, institutions and citizens across Nigeria.
