EFCC Arrests 56 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Ilorin, Kwara
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended 56 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital. The operation was conducted by the Ilorin Zonal Directorate between Tuesday and Wednesday at various locations within the city.
In a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja, EFCC Spokesperson Dele Oyewale revealed that the arrests were made following credible intelligence on the suspects’ fraudulent activities, which have brought hardship and distress to unsuspecting residents.
Oyewale detailed that the EFCC operatives confiscated 18 luxury cars, laptops, high-end smartphones, and charms during the operation. He further stated that the suspects will face charges in court after investigations are completed.
