Hotel Employee Arrested for Stealing 8 Refrigerators in Niger
The Niger State Police Command has arrested a hotel employee, identified as Elijah Ahmed, for allegedly stealing eight refrigerators from the hotel where he worked.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, disclosed this in a statement, saying five of the stolen refrigerators were recovered from the suspect, while three others had been sold to a scrap dealer.
According to Abiodun, Ahmed, a resident of the Tunga, Abdulsalam Motor Park area, was arrested by operatives attached to the Tudun-Wada Division following a complaint over the theft.
“Based on a complaint, one Elijah Ahmed of Tunga, Abdulsalam Motor Park area was arrested by police operatives attached to Tudun-Wada Division for stealing eight refrigerators in a hotel where he works,” the statement read.
The police spokesperson added that five of the refrigerators were recovered during the investigation, while the suspect reportedly sold the remaining three to a scrap dealer in the area.
The scrap dealer is currently at large, according to the police.
Abiodun said Ahmed had been charged to court for prosecution.
