Mohbad’s Widow: I’ll Defend Truth in Court, Not Online

Wunmi, the widow of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has spoken out amidst the ongoing controversy surrounding her husband’s death, asserting that she will defend the truth in court rather than on social media.

In an emotional message shared online, Wunmi expressed her gratitude to those who have supported her during what she described as an incredibly difficult time, marked by false accusations from various sources, including family, friends, and strangers.

Choosing to bear the emotional pain in silence, Wunmi emphasized that she will not engage in public debates or attempt to counter the misinformation being spread on social media. Instead, she is determined to focus on legal avenues to clear her and her late husband’s names.

Despite her resolve to stay out of the social media drama, Wunmi felt compelled to speak up for her late husband, Ilerioluwa, popularly known as Mohbad. She urged supporters and friends to honor his memory by refraining from negative comments and not tarnishing his image.

“I beg you, with all that you hold dear, not to tarnish his memory. Disrespecting Ilerioluwa in his death is showing disdain for his entire family. Anyone who truly loved him would never speak badly of him,” Wunmi stated.

Wunmi also clarified that she does not support or condone any derogatory remarks about Ilerioluwa, insisting that her husband should be remembered as the good man he was. She urged the public to respect his memory and refrain from defaming his character.

In conclusion, Wunmi thanked her supporters for their continued support during this challenging period.
